Founding Principal Wayne Hunt presented the Rock Creek Park sign plan to the Commission of Fine Arts — approval from these presidentially-appointed commissioners is required for any major project in Washington, DC. After much discussion the sign program concept was unanimously approved by the commission. Rock Creek Park is a series of 99 parks, historic sites, statues and monumental circles in the City.
