CSI: Los Angeles… The Hit Show Moves To The West Coast

Hunt Design creates colorful graphics for the new
“CSI: The Experience” exhibition

February 10, 2009 —The hit CBS series “CSI” is now encaptivating Los Angeles. A comprehensive exhibit covering the show, produced by the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, recently opened at the California Science Center in Exposition Park, Los Angeles. Featuring expansive bi-lingual graphics and signage created by Pasadena-based Hunt Design, a leading graphic designer for buildings, spaces and places, the show takes visitors on an experiential journey through the field of forensics and the science behind solving crimes.

“The exhibition puts visitors right in the middle of three active crimes scenes,” said Jennifer Bressler, principal and project director at Hunt Design. “It’s designed to be an interactive experience — the exhibit builds upon Hollywood with the wonder of science.”

Following an introductory film, the exhibition takes visitors through immersive, detailed environments — including a criminalities lab, an autopsy room, fingerprinting, digital evidence collection and forensic anthropology — involving them in the process of crime solving. Hunt worked along side Bob Weis Design Island Associates, producer, Scott Chase, exhibit designer and Seruto & Company, production manager.

“The exhibit is one of the most interactive and immersive we’ve worked on,” added Bressler. “As visitors carefully gather evidence, their knowledge grows as they find themselves actively solving the crime by actually being a crime investigator.”

A year in development, the exhibit is true to the “CSI” brand and includes series regulars guiding visitors through the process with pre-recorded video messages, as well as multimedia presentations showcasing the same special effects wizardry featured on the shows.

“The ‘CSI’ Experience” is a free exhibition at the California Science Center and runs through April 26, 2008 as part of a national tour of science museums that is expected to last for up to seven years.
