This pedestrian-friendly, historic downtown along the southern California coast is updated with a new citywide wayfinding system by Hunt Design. This comprehensive graphics program welcomes and directs drivers and pedestrians to the endless arts and cultural destinations, fine dining, boutique shopping, and active parks and beaches. Residents and visitors from near and far find their way to the Old Mission, Stearn’s Wharf, Santa Barbara Zoo, the Courthouse, Art and Historical Museums, and the historic theatres that give the downtown its energy and chic vibe.

The understated, architectural color palette and graphic patterns reflect the city’s Spanish colonial heritage. The system has unique color palettes which celebrate both the historic El Pueblo Viejo District, as well as the vibrant waterfront and beaches that attract locals and visitors from around the world.
