Adaptive Re-use A+

Creative and profitable re-use of underutilized commercial property is all the rage these days, but seldom do you see examples as literal and successful as this gas station-now-taco stand in Pasadena. The design is smart and minimal – just add tables and colorful umbrellas. Sitting among the gas pumps with a soda and a combination special just doesn’t get any better. And what a delight for the streetscape!

I remember the first time I saw that exactly one year ago (April 2010) and just about flipped I was so excited! LOL The reuse of the old historic gas station was just adorable and I thought it was perfect that Norma decided to open up her “dream taco restaurant” in that location.
